Welcome to this year's Summer Reading Program! This year’s program is all new, interactive and online. It's for everyone, babies, kids, teens and adults. Signing up is free and easy, click “register" below to get started.

Parents: If you would like to create a Family Account, please register yourself first and then register your children under your account.

It’s simple: Earn points and collect badges for reading this summer.

Earn 1 point for every book you add to your reading log. Once you hit 30 points, you earn a certificate and a medal!

How it Works:

  • Register for an account.
  • Log in to your account and record your reading to earn points. 
  • For more details, click on the tab for your age group.
  • Prizes must be redeemed by August 20 and must be claimed in person.

Great Prizes for You!

After listening to and logging 10 books online, Listeners earn a Temporary Tattoo.

After listening to and logging 20 books online, Listeners earn 

a Pencil.

After listening to and logging 30 books online, Listeners earn:

  • Certificate of Achievement
  • South Carolina Reading Award medal
  • Voucher for one free ticket to a Greenville Drive baseball game
  • One entry into a random drawing for the grand prize of a Leap Frog Leap Pad 3 Kids' Learning Tablet!

Put reading first

  1. Sign up the whole family for the Summer Reading program offered by the Anderson County Library. (sign up to track your reading online).
  2. Visit your local library again and again this summer. Ask your librarian for suggestions of great books to read yourself or to your young child.
  3. Set a goal of reading 20 minutes every day. For very young children and struggling readers, that can be spread out through the day.
  4. Make reading fun all summer long! 

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?
Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, children, teens, adults — everyone!  Summer Reading is for all Anderson County residents and library card holders. Children too young to read by themselves are welcome to participate by having a parent or caretaker sign them up and read to them.

Can I count books that I read on my computer or e-reader?
Of course! It’s all the same to us.

Can I count time that I spend reading to my kids?
For sure! We love when you read to your kids!

Can I count audiobooks?
You bet!

Can I count the time that I spend reading a book even if I don’t finish it?

Can I join the program after its official start date?
You bet! And if you can remember any reading that you’ve done after the official start date, you’re welcome to go back and count that.

Can I count reading that I’ve done before the official start date?
Actually, we do ask that you count only reading you’ve done within the official dates of the program.
